The only problem is that employees of the resort must abide by a strict rule to not fraternize with any of the resort guests, and Lani’s overbearing boss will stop at nothing to make sure she and Cash never find their happily ever after.

I’ve read a lot of shifter stories, but never one that gives the reasoning this one does for how the men became bear-shifters. To me the unique concept sets this story, this series, apart from the others. Either way, FUREVER MINE was a really good read. It’s the second book in Meredith Clarke’s series. I’ll be going back and reading the first book, Furever Mated.

Cash is his clan’s Beta, which means outside of their leader, the Alpha, he is the strongest and most powerful bear-shifter on the compound. When his instinct to mate becomes overpowering, for everyone’s safety he is sent to find his true-mate.

Lani is a bartender at the resort on the island Cash is sent to. The island is specifically geared toward matching bear-shifters with their mates. (Another interesting concept I’ve not read before.) Lani is every bit as drawn to Cash as he is to her, but as an employee of the resort it’s against the rules for her to get involved with him.

Cash’s personality sure does a one-eighty when he meets Lani. It was almost comical how easily the grizzly turns into a charming teddy bear as he flirts with the sexy bartender. Can he be charming enough to convince her to break the rules and risk her job for him? You’ll have to read this story to find out. 4 stars
