I love, love, loved this book! It’s my first read from Sarah Ballance and my biggest question is why? The 48-hour Hookup is the fourth book in her Chase Brothers series and I’m wondering why I’m just now hearing about it. Where were all my reader friends? This story was laugh-out-loud funny, very romantic, had a few twists and turns to keep me guessing, extremely likable main characters, and perfect pacing… keeping my attention from the beginning to the end.

I admit the hero was swoon-worthy. Clearly he wasn’t given the nickname hot HVAC guy for nothing. But I love that instead of being the typical cocky player, Liam Chase was embarrassed by all the attention he was receiving. One sweaty, bare-chested photo might have been enough to go viral causing women all over the country to be lusting after him, but in truth he’s mostly a shy, somewhat introverted man who openly admits he has no game when it comes to women. I found this adorable and when combined with the fact he was a gentleman, kind, and quite witty when compelled by a situation, I could easily see how it would be impossible to resist his attractiveness.

Likewise Claire Stevens is also a media sensation, having publicly broken up with three men in a row, she’s been unfairly nicknamed The Runaway Bride. She’s hiding out in the remote mountain lodge she inherited from her uncle hoping to avoid the public long enough that she can go back to her job as a television personality reporting the news instead of being the news. She’s certainly not looking to gain attention or get involved with another man.

When Claire needs to hire a contractor to repair the heating system in the lodge she has no idea she’s hired the hot HVAC guy or that the very first thing she will do is drop a huge pine tree on his truck right before a snowstorm which forces them to spend a few days stranded and alone together. One hilarious thing after another happens to these two, including the invasion of a raccoon they named Stanley. I don’t want to give up spoilers so I’ll just say this story was amazing… well-written, romantic, sexy, light-hearted, and let me just say one more time. Hilarious. And now it’s time for me to read up a little on those other Chase Brothers! 5 stars
