I devoured this one in one sitting! THE BACHELOR’S PROMISE is the third in author Naima Simone’s Bachelor Auction, but the first one I’ve read. I loved this one even without the backstories of the others, but you can bet I’ll be going back and reading them now!

Aiden was the perfect hero, reluctant though he professed to be. A faithful and loving son of a single mother who struggled to provide for him, who then in turn grew up to work hard to make something of himself. Now he is the founder and CEO of a million dollar company. Although she had refused help from him for herself, on her deathbed she asked Aiden to promise to make sure her boyfriend’s young daughter was taken care of, specifically that she had the means for a college education. Aiden agreed even though he despised the man and his son, for good reasons too.

Noelle Rana is nothing like her father or brother, both basically drunks and con men. She was eleven when her father moved them into the Kent house and loved Aiden’s mother who was the only mother she’d ever known. She grew up admiring Aiden and when she was older realized she loved him. When Aiden’s mother dies he turns his back on the Ranas, including Noelle even though they had grown close, breaking Noelle’s heart.

Six years later Noelle is very close to achieving her dreams, but needs help… she needs Aiden to keep his promise so she swallows her pride and goes to him. Neither of them really trust each other. Neither was prepared for the irresistible chemistry between them. Both fight their feelings and try to deny the pull of intense attraction between them. So much happens… old wounds are hard to heal… the past interferes… but these two are soooo good together. The story is amazing. Well-written, great fully developed characters, awesome dialogue and banter, and eventually some very steamy scenes. Definitely a must-read!
