ROOKIE LOVE by Skye Turner
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

ROOKIE LOVE is a cute, lighthearted romance that was an easy enjoyable to read. Ms. Turner tells the story in alternating first person pov which always helps keep the reader in on the internal thoughts and struggles of the main characters as their relationship builds. The story is set in Baton Rouge, Louisiana a historically romantic part of the country and where both leads were born and raised.

Jase is a minor league baseball pitcher about to be signed by a major league team which means moving out of state. Something he’s dreamed of all of his life and worked hard to achieve. But before that happens he falls hard and fast for Cally, a local girl who runs a no kill animal shelter. Cally’s grandmother founded the non-profit and Cally has devoted her whole life to it’s cause and success. These two are both sweet and perfect for each other and everything falls easily into place for them until Jase gets offered the contract of his dreams. Can they make a long distance relationship work? Can they find a solution that allows them to be together? Cute story. My first from Skye Turner.
