THE AUTHORS:

Shauna Allen

SHAUNA ALLEN grew up an only child with two open and loving parents in Central Texas. She’s married to her high school sweetheart and is the mother to three fantastic (no, that’s not a typo!) teenagers, including one she’s about to send off to the Air Force.

When she’s not writing, editing, or acting as personal assistant to two NYT Bestselling authors, Shauna enjoys reading, movies with Gerard Butler, vacays to the beach, and hangin’ with the kiddos–even if they don’t like hangin’ with her!

JANET NASH was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She spent her early years working and raising my two sons, Jason and Jeremy. She migrated to Texas nearly 30 years ago. She’s the Business Manager at a church in Spring, Texas where my husband and I also run a youth activity program. It wasn’t until 2005 that writing took center stage. She was inspired to write a story and have spent the past seven years absorbing everything she could about the craft of writing. Making her story come to life is a passion.

MY REVIEW:

CIRCLE OF REDEMPTION is a powerful, poignant and touching trio of intertwining stories written by three different authors and friends, Susan C. Miller, Janet Nash and Shauna Allen. All stories ponder the change, revelations, and redemptions one day, one act, one person can bring. Each are beautifully written and left me feeling grateful for the love, family, and friends I have in my own life.

LOST AND FOUND by Susan C. Miller is a well-written second chance story that grabs your attention right from the start and keeps it. SCM does a good job of drawing you into what’s happened with her characters (a war veteran turned cop and a single mother and her small daughter), both in the past and the present, and making you really care about the outcome even though it’s a short story.

SAVED BY THE STONE by Janet Nash is a very real and sad story of a soldier’s struggles with PTSD and depression after a tour in Afghanistan and the effects on his family. JN does a remarkable job of describing the raw anguish Cade and Grace feel as their life together is disintegrating before their eyes and they each feel helpless to stop it. An unexpected trauma and the strong basis of their love pulls them through.

SIGHT UNSEEN by Shauna Allen is a beautifully written story about the pain of overcoming the ultimate betrayal and a desperate loss and the courage it takes to open your heart to love again. SA immediately connects you with Travis and the intense emotions he feels over losing a wife he loved and his struggle to deal with the aftermath. His first ray of light after a year in darkness comes when he meets the vibrant and kind Paige, an artist and single mother. Their attraction is immediate and mutual but just when all seems to be going well an unexpected connection from the past tries to come between them. This story broke my heart and then filled it with joy.
