She still sat there, the phone to her ear, her appearance as tempting as ever, but she watched him now, too. She was focused on his chest—or maybe his abs—and she looked like she was about five seconds from jumping him.

There was no mistaking the desire in her eyes, and there was no denying his own answering surge of lust. It was the elephant in the room that he’d tried to ignore, but refused to shut the hell up.

After a few more words, she hung up, her attention still glued on his chest. “We’re…we’re…good…”

“Princess?” he asked, his voice deepened with desire. “You okay over there?”

“I…I’m…” She licked her lips, her gaze still pinned on his shirtless torso. Her cheeks flushed bright pink, but she didn’t look away. “Oh God. You’re…I’m…it’s so hot in here. What’s wrong with me?”

He stiffened, not liking the tone in her voice. She acted as if there had to be something wrong with her if she liked the way he looked without clothes on. All because she was a princess, and he was just a normal guy. Screw that. “What’s the matter, Princess? Is it the tattoos that threw you off? Are they forbidden in your country? Or is it that you’ve never seen a shirtless man before?”

MY REVIEW:

SEDUCING THE PRINCESS by Diane Alberts is the third wonderful story in her Shillings Agency series and can be read as a stand-alone book. This time around it’s Gordon Waybrook, who works security for Cooper Shillings and is an ex-Marine who is as alpha male as they come. He’s rugged and yet gorgeous, looks great in his suit for his bodyguard duties and even better out of it. He’s a good man with some solid and unbreakable moral values acquired by seeing the result of a broken home first hand, but yet lives life by those rules he’s made for himself without concern for the expectations of others. When he’s assigned to protect the Princess from a small European country while she’s in the states he is expecting an uptight, snobby, beautiful, spoiled, well… princess.

Princess Isabelle VanGuard is nothing like Gordon assumed. She’s very down-to-earth, having been raised by loving parents to always put what’s best for her country above what she wants. She’s well-taken care of, but not spoiled in any real sense of the word. In fact she’s accepted the fact her wishes come after most everything else, and her life is led at the direction of others. When she meets Gordon, all her self-discipline falls to the wayside. She has never met a man that affected her like he does, so she goes after what she wants, telling herself it’s just for a night before she fully submits her life to what she dreads most. And as long as it doesn’t break the princess rules her mother and her P.R. advisor have been drilling into since birth.

These two have an immediate attraction that neither of them care to fight to hard against even though both recognize it can’t be more than a temporary thing. The sexual pull is just too strong to ignore and Diane writes their time together, sexually and otherwise, so beautifully. Isabelle is used to issuing orders to “hired help” and Gordon is used to being in control, especially in the bedroom. The banter between these two sparks and really had me smiling pretty much throughout the book. I loved the growth and the sacrifices they both made to protect the happiness of the other even when it seemed to soon to truly be love. I have to say this book was just a really fun read, pretty light, no real drama or danger, just two people who in the world’s eyes being completely wrong for each other realizing they are a perfect fit. Great love story, and this princess defines for herself who she considers makes a real prince in her eyes and worthy of sharing her kingdom. 4.5 stars
